Designed from the room out
A private cinema starts with the room: its dimensions, how sound behaves in it and how much light can be kept out. From there we plan the screen size, seating rows and speaker positions so every seat has a good view and good sound.
Acoustic treatment controls echo and keeps sound in the room. Done well, it is concealed behind fabric walls and panelling that suit the interior.
Interior and technology together
Because we design interiors, the cinema can be as comfortable and considered as any other room in the house: upholstered seating, starlight or cove lighting, joinery for equipment, and a palette chosen for both mood and picture quality.

Questions we are asked
How big does a cinema room need to be?
Smaller rooms can work very well with the right layout. We assess the space and show you what is achievable before any work starts.
Can the cinema be soundproofed?
Sound isolation is planned into the construction when the room is built or refurbished. We advise on it early so the builder can include it.
Can a cinema be in a basement?
Basements are often ideal because they are dark and naturally isolated. Ventilation and moisture need planning, which we cover in design.
